The University’s licensing program is undertaken by our agency, College Licensing Company (CLC), who will initiate and administer the licensing application and agreements that will include the steps below.
The licensing program is overseen by Syracuse University’s office of trademark licensing with our exclusive licensing agency, Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC). CLC administers licensing applications and agreements while providing software services, ability to submit artwork for approval, report sales and royalty, disclosure of supply chain and many other tools and resources. Regardless of distribution, an official license is required to produce any Syracuse Uiversity marks and/or references on any type product for promotion, giveaway, sale to the University, or wholesale sales into retail. Syracuse University’s purchasing policy requires a use of a licensed vendor in any instance Syracuse University marks are utilized on products.
The licensing application is available online with all business considerations available. In addition all CLC requirements for licensure with Syracuse University, Fair Labor Association (FLA) affiliation is also a requirement. Maintaining supply chain disclosure is of high importance to the University and the Fair Labor Association provides guidance, tools and resources to ensure our partners maintain the supply chain expectations of the University. Please reach out to fairlabor.org to review considerations of affiliation. Once you have reviewed the business considerations of CLC and the Fair Labor Association, and the licensing terms are acceptable, you may begin the application in the same online platform.
